The cathedral chapter house

Pages & Document Description:

Abstract:
Reports briefly on excavations carried out in 1997 to examine the remains of a wall that curves around the outside the fourteenth-century chapter house. It is suggested that there was originally an isle surrounding the chapter house, although the relationship between the two structures was not ascertained, and the outer wall may even be pre-Conquest in date.
