Abstract:
An evaluation excavation adjacent to the hall revealed a complex sequence of post-medieval deposits consisting of brick walls and floors, dated by pottery to late-sixteenth–early-eighteenth century. Subsequent deposits of the early-nineteenth century included slate pencils, tying in with the 1825 OS map indication that part of the hall was used as a school. There were no later structural remains. AR
