Abstract:
An overview of work on the Fenland Project, begun in earnest in 1981, and yielding extensive multi-period evidence. The Fenland Management Project, deemed a misnomer as it, in essence, prepared the way for management of the resource rather than actively furthering it, is also considered. It is thought that the archaeological record of this substantial, internationally important, landscape could be enhanced by future work and that the management options have still to be refined. It is noted that the continued support of English Heritage and other agencies will be necessary for its survival as a natural and archaeological landscape. Holroyd, Isabel
