Abstract:
A magnetometer survey was carried out and successfully defined the extent of enclosures associated with a Late Iron Age to early Romano-British settlement site. The site had been partially located by a previous geophysical survey and evaluation excavation. A possible ring ditch and two linear ditch features were also located. Low magnitude fragmentary linear and curvilinear anomalies to the north of the enclosures and in other areas of the site may have had archaeological origins. Linear anomalies related to former ridge and furrow cultivation were found to be extensive across the survey area. Areas of magnetic debris may have represented former brick buildings or dumped thermo-remnant material. [Au(adp)]
