Abstract:
The evaluation was undertaken prior to the construction of an Air Park Display. The site was located on the south-east ridge of Caudle Head Mere, around which were areas of Iron Age, Roman and Saxon occupation. The excavations revealed an expanse of peat, but no archaeological finds or features were revealed. This suggested that the area may have been wet during periods of intense occupation on nearby sites. [Au(adp)]
