Abstract:
An evaluation was undertaken at the site of an 18th century house, proposed for conversion to a restaurant. A truncated wall construction cut and a pit containing 18th-19th century tile and brick fragments were revealed. A piece of possible 16th-17th century floor tile was recovered, and roof tile fragments were found within engineering test pits. It was concluded that further archaeological work would not be necessary. [AIP]
