Abstract:
An archaeological evaluation of the site was undertaken which involved the excavation and recording of three trenches. Three subsoil features, two of which were probably post holes, were recorded in the south-west zone of the site, but did not contain any artefacts. A few fragments of medieval and post-medieval pottery were recovered from spoil heaps only. There was no evidence for medieval field systems on the site and the area appeared to contain little potential for archaeological deposits related to earlier settlement activity. [Au]
