Abstract:
An evaluation and building recording was undertaken on this important late medieval moated manor. An early regional example of a brick hall (early 16th century), with timber wings to the east and west ends being added during the 17th century. Evidence of buried structures was slight and had been affected by later and more recent disturbance. A number of outbuildings were shown on a map of 1756. The only indicator of earliest activity was pottery of the 12th and 13th centuries. [Au(adp)]
