Abstract:
The evaluation revealed the presence on the site of well-preserved archaeological features of medieval date, including pits, post holes and a possible hearth. These features were cut directly into the surface of the natural boulder clay and in places were only 700mm below the modern car park surface. Early modern development, including cellars, has lead to some truncation of the medieval remains along part of the street frontage. [Au(abr)]
