Abstract:
A c.1.1km single carrigeway road was proposed at Lowestoft. An assessment report (in accordance with the Department of Transport Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) recommended that further archaeological work be undertaken prior to development, incorporating the examination of pre-19th century boundaries, and further work to confirm the existence or otherwise of prehistoric deposits along the road line. The field evaluation revealed no evidence of archaeological remains or activity, other than recent dump material. [Au(abr)]
