Abstract:
As part of the Littondale Survey in 1992 an excavation and an EDM survey were undertaken at New Ing [?Inn] barn. It is apparent that this site falls into the farmstead category as the position is not a defensive one; the altitude suggests pastoral farming. The purpose of the numerous enclosures on the site is not certain. Dating evidence suggests occupation during the late 3rd and early 4th centuries AD. Two resistivity surveys were carried out, one at High Bank Lands on the main rectangular enclosure and the other at Blue Scar, a small circular site. AIP
