Abstract:
An aerial photographic assessment was carried out to facilitate further assessment and possible evaluation in advance of the proposed construction of a pipeline. Eleven areas of archaeological interest which lay adjacent to the route were recorded, and a detailed interpretation of two further crop-marked sites was undertaken. Site 'A' was a complex ditched settlement, probably of prehistoric or Romano-British date. The proposed pipeline route passed through its core. Site 'B' was a rectilinear ditched enclosure with rounded corners. [Au(adp)]
