Abstract:
A small excavation, following on from evaluation in 1992 and 1994, preceded development of this site which lay in the north-east corner of the City, close to the rivers Itchen and the site of Durngate. A 2 metre square trench was excavated to a prescribed depth of 1.7 metres. A sequence of intermittent dumping and silting, and a single episode of structural activity in the medieval period was recorded. [Sec(AIP)]
