Abstract:
A watching brief during topsoil removal in advance of mineral extraction on land to the south of Sheepwash Brook near East Leake identified a pit containing burnt and fire-cracked stones. The feature was identified as being similar to those associated with Burnt Mounds or found on Iron Age settlement sites. [AIP]
