Abstract:
Assessment of a 2 kilometre wide corridor over 20 kilometres long identified nearly 200 sites, many of which were Scheduled. Sites datable to the Mesolithic and all subsequent periods were identified, and 16 areas/sites were categorised as areas of "absolute constraint" with regard to the development. Within the study area, the density of sites was much higher in the gravel and limestone areas than on the clays. AIP
