Abstract:
The site of a linear, water-filled feature was almost certainly located and seemed to survive well. The evidence for a model canal lock was rather more hazy. An evaluation was recommended to settle the matter. The potential importance of the site was assessed as being significant not only for the industrial heritage of Stoke-on-Trent but to the whole nation.[AIP]
