Abstract:
A desk-top study and walkover survey were undertaken in connection with the proposed scheme of A1 improvements. The area was divided into three study areas. The central sector contained two major Roman sites, the Roman town of Cataractonium and the Roman village at Bainesse Farm, which would necessitate major archaeological excavations. The impact on the other two areas was minor when compared to that in the central sector. AIP
