Abstract:
An evaluation was carried out in advance of proposals for a residential development. The south-east part of the site was shown to contain 18th century made ground , as well as 19th century garden features. A single shallow undated pit was also encountered. A small quantity of Roman and medieval pottery was found. Despite the proximity of Civil War defences and a Roman burial site, there was no evidence for activity of this nature on the site. [Au(adp)]
