Abstract:
The detailed survey recorded several linear responses, pit type anomalies and trends, particularly within the western part of the survey area. There was a noticeable increase in level of magnetic response associated with these responses. However, no clear archaeological pattern was visible in the data to support this interpretation. It was possible that this region represents plough damaged archaeological features; there were indications of ploughing in the results. In addition, a series of linear responses thought to have been produced by field drains may have further disturbed archaeological deposits. The results were broadly consistent with those of previous survey work. [Au(abr)]
