Abstract:
Despite intrusive foundations from the bridge construction, the watching brief showed that archaeological deposits survived. The soils in the trial-holes suggested good preservation quality for organic remains. The survival of 18th century remains suggested that earlier deposits might also survive. More archaeological work would be necessary if groundworks were to be carried out and preservation in situ was not possible. AIP
