The military tomb in the north choir aisle usually attributed to Bartholomew Lord Burghersh (d.1355) is examined in detail and shown to be a composite monument. During conservation work material was discovered within the tomb which throws new light on its construction and previous repair. The tomb, with its companions, is compared to the tombs of two other members of the Burghersh family.
